Hey Colorado folks: Colcannon, a totally awesome Irish band who's absolutely great live, will play at St. John's Episcopal Church on Saturday at 8pm in honor of St. Patrick's Day. I think St. John's is on 13th14th and Pine. I'll be there and having a great time.

Out of town folks: Colcannon's scheduled gigs include stops in Santa Cruz, CA, Rapid City, SD, Harrisonburg, VA, New York, NY, and Port Rowan, ON, among other places. They're a real treat to see live -- a band with a fantabulous sense of humor who can also be very serious and soulful while playing a 3-corpser in Gaelic and then upbeat for the next set of reels and jigs. mlechan will vouch for me. Sorry babe, but I don't think they'll make it to Japan this year ;-P

Heh. Cover charge for an event at a church.

I don't see it on the site, but it's usually $8-12 for their shows.

And now that I check I think they're actually on 14th and Pine.

Oh yeah. If you wanted to come up before the concert (or stay around after) we could talk about Ireland with my folks. (Be prepared for a long discussion. My family has a habit of keeping folks up way past their bedtimes.)

Your first sentence sent me on the following mental train:

vouch -> "vouch" qua innuendo -> school vouchers -> Republicans support government paying tuition at private boys schools -> Republicans oppose gay marriage. So much for marrying your high school sweetie and supporting a proud American institution.

But you already knew my mind works in strange ways.

Hmm. When a person is "Institutionalized," it means they're crazy and off the streets. So what does that say about the instution of marriage?
