This is my favorite holiday of the year because it produces tangible benefits and lasts for six months. Yay!

Benefits? As if. Now, if we had our clocks adjusted like this year-round, that might be beneficial, but as it is, the havoc all the switching plays with our systems ain't worth it. And if we're only going to do this for half the year, why on earth is it the half when we need it less?

I agree. DST is an outdated idea leftover from the days when a large part of the population worked on farms.

How about Arizona?
..and kids. Many don't understand the change. Adults and older kids do so though it might be hard to adjust for some, they can at least rationalize it.

... and cats don't recognize *any* time change

(um, this is Cece posing as Thor - see daylight savings changes more things than just time)

I can support that! Then you wouldn't have to get to your Yule sunrise party until about 8am!

I can't agree with calling the Spring forward a holiday.

The holiday is Fall back, and we are rewarded with an extra hour of sleep. Spring forward is an anti-holiday.

Count Japan among the cat entities.

I'll take an extra hour to play outside after school or work over one hour of sleep any time of year.

I stay up late. I need the sleep. If Japan spontaneously sprang forward right now I would spontaneously combust.
