In Spanish "Saint" is "San" if the person is male and "Santa" if female. So why is Santa Claus a big fat guy? How would Christmas change if the jolly old elf was represented as a Virgin manifestation? And how cool would it be to live in Santa Claus, CA?

"Santa Claus" is not Spanish, but a corruption of the Dutch "Sinter Klaas" or "Saint Nick" -- "Sinter" is properly male.

I'm sure it takes a special kind of person to live in Santa Claus, CA.
