Wednesday Gets No Love

Thursday's Child comes up randomly on iTunes and I say "Hey, it'd be great to create a playlist with one song for every day of the week!" So I start building the playlist and discover one glaring problem: Wednesday. I've got at least two options for every other day, but I only have one mp3 with "Wednesday" in the title and it's by Tori Amos. And it breaks the flow of the other songs. And it doesn't even mention the day.

Allman Brothers Band - Stormy Monday
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Tuesday's Gone
Tori Amos - Wednesday
David Bowie - Thursday's Child
The Cure - Friday I'm In Love
Grateful Dead - One More Saturday Night
U2 - Sunday Bloody Sunday
The Beatles - Eight Days a Week

One of these things is not like the others. Any suggestions on better songs to cover the middle of the week?

Somehow I don't see Simon & Garfunkel fitting any better between Lynyrd Skynyrd and David Bowie than Tori Amos did.

Lisa Loeb was my first thought too.

Along with my seconding the Lisa Loeb suggestion (I loves that song and it always made me think of Library Wednesdays in high school), I also offer Wednesday Week. I can't seem to find a good vid of Elvis Costello's cover, but this is the original and it's peppy and fits into your retro synthpoppy theme you've got going there.

Also, you need the 'Happy Days' theme song in there.

"Wednesday's Child" by Emiliana Torrini. In fact, (unrelated to your weekdays playlist) I would recommend the entire album it's on, Love in the Time of Science.

revision:
pro: leads into the Thursday's Child track by Bowie in a ridiculously awesome way
con: hardly uses the day of the week in the lyrics

The Beatles' "She's Leaving Home" starts with the line "Wednesday Morning at nine o'clock as the day begins". That's what came to my mind for Wednesday.
