Wednesday, April 27th, 2005 01:49 pmMy company, Tyler Technologies, Eagle Division is looking to hire a developer, a project manager, and one or more business analysts, all based in our Lakewood, CO office. If you're interested, ask me questions send me your resume -- tstone (a) tyler-eagle.com. Brief summary of tasks:
tamheals keeps chiding me that I have excellent health insurance that I never use.
- Developer
- Work in Java on our content management and tax software. The former product is strong and will have a few dozen installations by the end of the year, but there is no shortage of cool new features to add. Our appraisal and assessment applications are near completion, but there's still a lot of work to do. The development environment is fairly agile and cooperative. You'll have the experts available to learn quickly, and our framework makes adding functionality easy to do, even for the unfamiliar. We're looking for people who are very smart programmers -- you don't need to know Java specifically. (It's easy to learn if you're smart.)
- Project Manager
- The job of a project manager is to act as the contact point for clients and steer the project to completion. This means communicating clearly, managing expectations, and being persistent.
- Business Analyst
- BAs wear lots of different hats (like me!). They test our software, communicate requirements and issues to developers, set up installations for installations and demos, train users, and write documentation. Successful BAs are good at figuring out both how software works currently and how it ought to work :-) Personality counts too -- you should have one.

Date: 2005-05-14 04:38 pm (UTC)We're hiring four project managers/business analysts/implementors right away, but our yearly forecast is to grow by around 20 employees this year, so we'll be looking for folks in August as well.
The programmer position is open until we find the right person. We'd rather not hire anybody than hire someone who's not top quality, so it might still be available by August.
If you send me a résumé (now or later) I'll see if we can get an interview once you get back to this side of the ocean.
