Today (Is Not The Greatest Day)
Wednesday, June 9th, 2004 12:36 amMy diet today:
I do have a cold, but I could get used to this diet. It's rather pleasant. This awesome girl I've been hanging out with called me last night to warn me that she had a fever and was afraid she'd given it to me the night before. I confessed that I'd had a sore throat all day and might have given it to her. Or perhaps we managed to contract two separate illnesses and avoid communicating them through kissing. Remember kids -- practice safe kissing to avoid romantically transmitted diseases.
On another note, there was a rather intense marble-sized hail and thunder storm in my work's neighborhood tonight. I heard lightning and remembered that my windows were open a crack so I headed outside. Within twenty feet of the office building's back door my hat blew off and I was soaked, so I decided I'd probably get the car more wet by opening the door than leaving the windows cracked. I dashed back under the overhang. I'd borrowed a key to the front door, but didn't want to circle the building, so I decided to stand there and watch the awesome power of hail and rain and lightning until someone wondered where I was. After ten minutes or so I realized that the overhang extended further than I thought, so I could knock on the window.
When all was said and done, not much rain came in through the cracks. My car was up to its pits in hail and water and a few gallons had seeped in and pooled on the floor of the back seat. I spent a while dumping it out with a Nalgene and a Pepsi bottle. The red Subaru brigade had no troubles in the parking lot, but my coworker with a front-wheel drive who parked on the low end of the parking lot was not so lucky. I took pictures of the affair.
(I haven't gotten around to writing about the other pictures I put up, but I'll get around to it eventually.)
