Poor locations for an alarm clock #17:

On the east windowsill, so when you wake up and check the time you get blinded by the rising sun.

That's the wonderful thing about living; there's always something more to learn.

Sometimes I think "creativity" is a nice way of saying "finding out for yourself why it isn't done that way."

I find at the foot of the bed works, you have to sit up to hit the snooze button. Or crawl.

It would work if my bed had feet. I sleep in a hammock. And while you could argue that the frame ends in feet, I would have to stand precariously to turn the alarm on and off. I'd like to locate it somewhere where its routine use does not endanger life and limb.

Ok, turn up the volume really loud, and put it in the bathroom. When the alarm calls, you can answer that, as well as nature itself.

Or on a North windowsill, so it's backlit during all daylight hours -- you're not blinded by the sun, but you can't see the damned time.

#11: Plugged into any switch-controlled outlet, especially one blocked by a large, heavy piece of furniture.

Insights that could be forseen, but are more likely gained through experience.
