flwydSo I stayed up all night writing a review of Merlin Donald's Origins of the Modern Mind : Three Stages in the Evolution of Culture and Cognition. It was supposed to be about 8,000 words and I said most intelligent things I could based on my reading of the book and its commentaries, but it came out to about 3500 words. Ooops. We'll see what I can do about that.
Hopefully my 8 fucking A. M. philosophy phinal will go better, even though I'm not sure what my cognitive capabilities will be at that point. Waking up at 11:30 and 12:30 after single hours of sleep this late morning produced all sorts of strange false memories. I thought I was supposed to go somewhere, that I was somewhere else and had to get back to my room, that I was in a classroom or something... There needs to be more cognitive science research linking consciousness and cognitive skill to lack of sleep.
In other news, I've just rediscovered AudioGalaxy through Sputnix. I can just leave it running and all sorts of great music arrives on my hard drive. I finally have a complete version of Two Way Dreamtime by Directions in Groove. Too bad I can't listen to it until I get some USB sound or a crossover cable.
