Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau
Saturday, September 8th, 2001 12:00 amI went to Côr Meibion Llanelli (Llanelli Male Choir) in concert in Denver tonight. They sung a variety of songs, including the Welsh, American, and South African national anthems, tratitional Welsh hymns, Verdi numbers, songs from Le Mis, and others fit for 65 voices or one female soloist. They also had one of their members read a short piece before each song. You wouldn't think a Welsh choir with grayscale hair styles singing to an audience predominantly made of aging Coloradans of Welsh descent would have so much humor. Especially the "Synopsis of the Great Welsh Novel" bit by Tudor Edwards.
And to make the evening even more exciting, my mom gave me a check for $850, bringing the money I paid for school down to roughly $400. Time to mentally do some birthday shopping.
When I got back to Brackett, some of my residents were playing ping pong, so I joined in. It'll still take me a little time to get the doubles rhythm down.
And I just discovered that I have to hit a "refresh date" button on my client, so you might have missed a thing or two I posted in the last day or two. Scroll down a bit.
Some random thoughts: If the notes for I Know What You'll Do Next Summer were in a file cabinet, would it be called the Thrilla in the Manilla Folda?
The girls liked the Elvis concert so much, they gave him a standing ovulation.
"I studied economics at a conservative arts school."
