Date: 2010-07-17 03:21 pm (UTC)Because I've been thinking a lot lately about the idea of beginners' mind, and the difference between an actual novice and someone who has moved through apprenticeship and expertise, then become a master by cultivating a novice outlook. But you can't skip the middle steps. Mr. Rogers, with his sweaters and his theological training, was very, very good at being a grown-up.
