I've spent much of today skimming really boring job postings. There's a certain uniformity in job board language that makes reading about exciting work really droll. This means (unless you're picky about domain like I am), it's hard for any job posting to stick out. So I was amused to find this job posting written in Ruby on the Joel on Software jobs board. I could tell the company was at least kinda hip when I saw their name was Shop It To Me. It's exactly the sort of character I would dig in a company; unfortunately they're working in a domain I'm not interested in.

cool posting

Hey Anand & Trevor,

This is Charlie from Shop It To Me. Thanks for the thoughts on the Ruby posting. Anand, just out of curiosity, what kinds of things would make a job sound exciting to you? While we are oriented around shopping and fashion, we are doing some pretty cool things technically and have some pretty intellectually interesting technical challenges. So, we wanted to know if that's not being conveyed well, or if your comment is focused more on the business itself.

Thanks!

///some pretty cool things technically and have some pretty intellectually interesting technical challenges
To start, you can give us a hint about the type of intellectual challenges..
The only thing that grabs the eye about the posting is 'shopping personalization engine' may be you can elaborate a little on what are the main features, you are considering for it, (like cognitive archs (CHREST,ACT-R etc...).. or maybe you planning to use Neural networks, Genetic algorithm etc..
