Several-hours-ago,-I-bumped-my-RHA-plastic-"coffee"-mug-against-my-desklamp.--The-cup-did-a-180-in-the-air,-losing-its-top-when-it-hit-the-corner-of-my-keyboard,-spilling-about-12-oz-of-Powerade-and-ice-mostly-on-the-edge-of-the-desk-and-on-the-floor-next-to-my-stereo.--I-grabbed-a-bunch-of-paper-towels-and-dealt-with-the-puddles-and-ice.--I-then-ran-paper-towel-edges-between-my-keyboard-rows-and-wiped-down-the-corner-(near-the-escape,-1-,-`,-tab,-etc.-keys).--I-blew-on-it-and-it-looked-good.--I-decided-not-to-use-it-for-awhile-to-invoke-the-sprites-of-evaporation,-so-I-distracted-myself-by-opening-my-new-copy-of-Apples-to-Apples.

I-came-back-after-a-bit-and-started-surfing-the-web,-since-that's-mouse-based.--I-got-an-IM-while-I-was-afk,-so-I-responded-with-"hey."--The-person-was-away-at-that-point,-so-I-went-back-to-producing-mouseevents.--When-she-got-back,-she-continued-the-conversation,-asking-me-how-I-was.--"Okay"-seemed-to-come-out-okay,-but-then-a-key-started-repeating.--My-next-message-was-grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr,-the-next-"fuk,"-the-next-an-attempted-explanation-that-didn't-get-sent-because-the-return-key-wouldn't-work,-and-AIM-doesn't-send-on-pasted-returns.

I-decided-I'd-better-take-the-keyboard-apart.--It-turns-out-the-screws-on-the-bottom-are-1.27mm-alan-keys.--The-smallest-alan-key-I-have-is-1.5mm.--My-residents-had-a-couple-2mms-and-as-low-as-1/16",-but-that's-not-good-enough.--I-called-the-other-RA-on-our-staff-most-likely-to-have-computer-tools.--He-said-he-had-one-that-looked-like-it-was-1mm,-so-I-brought-my-keyboard-down-there-to-check.--It-was-2mm,-but-one-of-his-residents-had-a-set-which-included-a-1.27-and-even-a-.9mm.--Damn.

So-after-a-bunch-of-struggling,-I-fianally-got-it-apart,-attacked,-any-sign-of-wetness,-and-carefully-removed-the-massive-dead-skin-and-beard-hair-buildup-(some-of-which-was-still-damp).--I-couldn't-figure-out-how-to-remove-the-bottom-part,-but-it-looked-like-it-would-make-it.--A-resident-came-and-talked-to-me,-starting-the-question-by-asking-if-there-were-any-rooms-she-could-move-to.--She'd-been-having-some-relatively-minor-(in-the-grand-scheme-of-things)-roommate-issues.--I-managed-to-convince-her-that-talking-about-issues-is-much-easier-and-takes-much-less-time-than-moving-all-of-your-stuff-down-a-floor,-so-with-some-more-encouraging-I-got-her-to-agree-to-have-a-conversation-with-me-present.--When-we-got-bacccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccck,-there-was-a-note-from-the-roommate,-saying-"We-need-to-talk."--I-said-very-little,-it-was-one-of-the-most-adult-conversations-between-two-freshmen-I've-ever-seen.

After-I-got-back,-I-plugged-my-keyboard-in-and-it-seemed-to-be-working,-so-I-put-everything-back-together,-only-to-discover-that-a-few-keys-were-still-problematic-and-others-still-repeating,-even-after-lifting-my-finger.--I-took-it-back-apart-and-did-a-little-work,-which-is-where-we-have-it-now.--Top-panel-off,-two-paper-towels-between-main-part-and-bottom,-and-two-keys-don't-work.--The-righ-alt/option-key-and-the-spacebar.

that sucks.

i spilled milk on my bondi blue imac's keyboard, and that was not happy.

i ended up buying a new (crappy and cheap) keyboard, but then like a year later it started working again. go figure. evaporation slowly at work, i guess.

and those little alan screws are obnoxious to get out.

hope your keyboard is ok! and...why does your music selection have spaces?

I-also-hit-a-space-in-Key-Caps-and-copied-it,-so-I-can-do-this: with-an-apple-v.--Writing-a-post-without-spaces-was-just-too-entertaining.

I-found-a-site-that-says-how-to-take-apart-an-Apple-Pro-Keyboard,-so-it-looks-like-I've-got-another-fun-Friday-evening-ahead.

See, now this is why first of all I adore you, and secondly why people look at both of us strangely sometimes- Because while "looks-like-I've-got-another-fun-Friday-evening-ahead." sounds sarcastic, I don't think that you or I would actually mean it to be. *hugz0rz*
