This is really fun to read, having just driven from New York out west. The endless forest seemed to end somewhere between Illinois and Iowa, for me. I've never been to West Virginia, though; it sounds like the visit was full of interesting moments!

I really appreciated when I finally started seeing windmills during my drive, also largely around the point where I reached Iowa/Nebraska.
